Whether on the stage, in the studio, or “on the road,” the arts are an essential, effervescent ingredient in Maret’s superlative college-prep curriculum. Designed to awake and embolden each students’ creative spirit, our arts education also stimulates the skills to discover, observe, reflect, interpret, analyze, and present.
Maret recognizes that ingenuity and creativity go hand-in hand. We’re one of the only private independent schools in the area that requires students to take visual and performing arts instruction from kindergarten through ninth grade. Arts classes are given the same priority as any other academic course, meeting at least four times a week. By the time they reach tenth grade, Maret students have a wealth of electives and extracurricular activities that encourage them to hone their natural talents – or cultivate new ones.
