Maret School Theater

Theater is a major focus during the fall and spring, when students from all divisions stage several productions. Recent shows include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Les Misérables, Damn Yankees, and Alice in Wonderland. Shows are truly all-school events with faculty and students pitching in to help with the acting, choreography, dancing, singing, set design and construction, lighting, costumes, and publicity.

Lower School Theater

Drama is incorporated into many class exercises throughout the Lower School. In fourth grade, students perform a musical they write as a class, based on famous Greek myths, and always a genuine crowd-pleaser.

Middle School Theater

The middle school produces either a dramatic play or a musical each fall. All students are encouraged to audition regardless of prior experience and can be actively involved in all the components of a production: set building, painting, stage management, direction, acting, singing, and dancing. The middle school drama productions are extracurricular activities that meet outside the school day. Seventh graders have a weekly drama class graded on a pass/fail basis.

Upper School Theater
