Ideal candidates will be skilled communicators, highly organized, deadline-oriented, collaborative, goal-achieving, creative thinkers and eager to work with a fully present and highly participatory volunteer core. Candidates must also show demonstrated ability to establish relationships and solicit gifts. The director of annual giving is an integral member of the Maret community and candidates must reflect Maret’s mission and core values.
The director of annual giving will also support Maret’s various community events, especially those managed by the Development Office, and be fully engaged in faculty meetings, trainings, and initiatives. Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of five years of successful fundraising and volunteer management experience required. Experience in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge is a plus. This is a full-time, 12-month, in-office position. The director of annual giving reports directly to the director of development.
Responsibilities for the Director of Annual Giving include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the annual giving team and work in partnership with the director of alumni giving and programs, the director of development, the development associate, and the database manager
- Develop and implement a strategic, volunteer-oriented, and highly segmented annual giving program to ensure continued growth and increased participation from all constituent groups (including trustees, current families, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, foundations, etc.)
- Recruit and manage the Annual Fund volunteer committees including, the 70+ Current Parent Committee, the Parents of Alumni Committee, the Grandparents Committee, and the Faculty Committee
- Manage current and new foundation relationships and grants for current operations
- Oversee the gift acceptance, acknowledgement, and stewardship of all Annual Fund donors and volunteers Oversee annual giving processes and procedures
- Work with the database manager and others to provide necessary reports and incorporate data driven analysis into the Annual Fund program; stay up to date on current giving trends
- Develop Annual Fund communications and messages consistent with the school’s strategic goals and mission
- Oversee the production and execution of annual giving calendar, solicitations, materials, web presence, and social media outreach
- Manage Annual Fund related meetings, activities, and events
- Coordinate individual prospect plans with the director of development
- Support new projects, initiatives and emerging school needs as assigned by the director of development and/or head of school
- Partner with other development team members on constituent communications, programs, and events Integrate social media, technology, and other creative tools into the Annual Fund campaign
- Be an active and present member of the Maret community The school offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
The salary range is $95,000–$110,000. The salary offered is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience and education of the selected candidate, budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
