Part-Time Middle School Science Teacher

Maret School is looking for an inspiring and engaging middle school physical science teacher to begin in August 2026. Candidates should be lifelong learners who reflect the school’s mission and core values, have experience differentiating instructional strategies and learning experiences, possess strong communication skills, and exhibit a facility and nimbleness with technology. The position is supervised by the chair of the Science Department and includes teaching two sections of Science 7 and fulfilling one or more community responsibilities. There is a possibility this position could be expanded to include coaching responsibilities in our athletics department.

Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to and passion for equity, inclusion, and belonging in all facets of their work. 

A successful candidate will:

  • Have demonstrated expertise in teaching physical science;
  • Display excellent classroom management skills and enthusiasm for working with middle school students;
  • Exhibit a deep passion for teaching science and interest in working with students with a wide range of skills and strengths;
  • Have a minimum of three years of teaching experience, including laboratory-based courses;
  • Have an advanced degree in physics (preferred).

Salary for teaching two classes will be in the range of $28,400–$48,800 based on years of teaching and qualifications. Additional salary (and possibly benefits) for additional responsibilities.
