Maret seeks a Head Coach for Upper School Varsity Boys Tennis for the Spring 2026 season, running from mid-February through late May. The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable, organized, and enthusiastic coach who is committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the court while contributing to Maret’s inclusive and mission-driven athletic program.

Program Overview
The Varsity Boys Tennis Head Coach is responsible for teaching the skills, strategies, and sportsmanship of tennis to students in grades 9–12. Practices and competitions typically take place Monday–Friday between 2:00 and 6:00 PM, with coaches expected to arrive 30 minutes prior to practices, games, and team departures. Practices are held at the UDC tennis courts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to Maret’s mission and core values
  • Embrace and model Maret’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Teach and develop fundamental tennis skills for players of varying experience levels
  • Plan and run effective, engaging, and developmentally appropriate practices
  • Develop a season-long program plan that includes goals, sequential skill development, and match strategies
  • Attend and manage all scheduled practices and competitions
  • Oversee daily team logistics, including transportation and communication
  • Collect, store, and maintain team equipment throughout the season
  • Serve as a positive role model, mentor, and educator for student-athletes

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous college and/or high school playing experience (preferred)
  • High school coaching experience (preferred)
  • Youth, high school, or club-level coaching experience (a plus)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with student-athletes, parents, faculty, and staff
  • In-depth knowledge of tennis rules, strategies, and regulations
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, professionalism, and passion for coaching
  • Availability between approximately 2:30 PM and 6:30 PM, depending on team schedule
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a 14-passenger bus

Coaching Salary Ranges
Compensation is determined based on the specific roles and responsibilities associated with each sport and season. All applications are reviewed individually to ensure that the salary offered aligns appropriately with the scope of the position. The ranges listed include both head coaching and assistant coaching roles.

Middle School : $1,700 - $2,500 
Upper School: $2,300 - $8,500
