Saturday, December 9 was a perfect day to “Gear Up for Good" — an event combining a sports gear drive for Leveling the Playing Field and an all-gender flag football clinic with Maret's DCSAA championship football team.
2016. 2019. 2021. And now 2023. Maret football edges out Coolidge High School 30-27 in a hard-fought, evenly matched contest to earn its fourth DCSAA Class A Championship banner.

Maret celebrated the installation of its tenth head of school, Dennis Bisgaard, at an all-school assembly on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. This historic moment in the school’s more than century-long history was marked with heartfelt speeches, thoughtful gifts, joyful song, and plenty of laughter.
Roman Jensen ’24 Maret’s quarterback joined Chad Ricardo on In the Sports to talk about the success of Frog Football this year. Jensen spoke about the team’s hard work, great coaching, and tight-knit culture.
Last winter, upper school science teacher Hugh McGuinness was appointed to the position of research associate in the Entomology Department at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) of the Smithsonian Institution. Dr. McGuinness will be able to pursue his own research in addition to teaching at Maret.

Nearly 1,000 Maret community members turned out to honor Head of School Marjo Talbott and her remarkable 29-year legacy of leadership. Alumni, parents of alumni, trustees, faculty, former faculty, friends, and family gathered at in the Great Hall of the Library of Congress for the big event on April 15.
