Advancing with Purpose

In September, 2025, the Board of Trustees approved a new strategic plan for Maret, Advancing with Purpose. This plan aligns our priorities with a clear vision and calls our community to come together to empower our students and lead our school to an exciting future.

Each learner is unique, but all students need a relevant and robust educational foundation to thrive in a global landscape of increasing complexity and rapid technological change. This strategic plan prioritizes the delivery of exceptional programs and instruction in ways that honor our students’ individual journeys.

ADVANCING WITH PURPOSE

A Strategic Plan for Maret 2025

This plan is the culmination of a year of reflection, study, and imagining. Our Steering Committee considered the current and projected educational landscape and led an inclusive strategic planning process that gathered valuable input from students, faculty, families, alumni, and Board. We are grateful for the many voices who contributed to this plan with care, expertise, and insight.

OUR VISION

We provide a transformative education to build a better world, one student at a time.

This vision is the plan’s north star, guiding us into the future. It reflects Maret’s longstanding educational values and defines our aspirations.

At Maret, each student is encouraged to develop their interests, passions, and strengths in order to meet their own purpose in the world. Through this transformative process, they learn essential skills and gain an understanding of who they are and who they can become. In this way, the school pursues a better world—one in which students are engaged with courage, purpose, and joy.

OUR PLAN

Empowering Every Learner is at the heart of this plan. The remaining five priorities are all in support of this goal.

We want our students to blaze their own trails. Our job is to prepare them with the knowledge and skills they need to discover their purpose and find success throughout their lives. This plan builds on Maret's already strong program with initiatives that focus on current research, best practices, and the needs of our rapidly changing world.

We believe that students’ well-being and sense of belonging are vital to their learning, growth, and success. We will sustain the equitable, inclusive, and joyful learning environment that is a hallmark of a Maret education and that stirs our students to lead connected and consequential lives.

Leading Maret into the future includes nurturing our outstanding faculty. We will focus on their well-being and provide them with new opportunities to collaborate, innovate, and grow throughout their careers.

We will use our space and place in the city to inspire learning and accommodate our evolving programs now and for the next generation. As responsible stewards of the school, we will align our financial planning with our educational goals and champion the mission and vision of the school.
