Chinese

Beginning students are introduced to Mandarin Chinese using the Pinyin system of Romanization and simplified characters. As they progress through the program, students continually expand their vocabulary, study and review grammar. They gain increased language fluency and cultural understanding through textbook readings, articles on current social topics, plays, short stories, multimedia material, discussion, and debates. You can read more about Maret's Chinese classes in our curriculum guide.

Chinese is open to students in grades 9-12.
