Field Usage Charts

These charts depict proposed field use as of March 15, 2022.

Usage outlined in the charts below reflects Maret's defined programmatic needs, as well as use by the community, ECC/DCPS/Charter school use, and youth sports organizations as specified in the Memorandum of Understanding.

Chart of Fall Field Usage
  • The fields will not be scheduled for use by Maret or its lessees on any District of Columbia holiday.
  • For any leased use, the total number of players and coaches shall not exceed 60 at any time.
  • Practices are anticipated have approximately 50 to 60 players and coaches.
  • Maret shall require all Maret and visiting team members and most coaches to travel to and from the fields by bus for games. Exceptions: team members who live in the neighborhood and can bike or walk to/from the fields, team members who use Metrobus, and up to five coaches who may drive to/from the fields. Team members whose parents or guardians attend a game may leave the fields with their parents or guardians. 
  • Weekend games are anticipated to have approximately 100 spectators and approximately 40 players. 
  • Rivalry games, which occur a few times a season, may draw a couple hundred spectators.

  • The fields will not be scheduled for use by Maret or its lessees between December 21 and January 2 and on any District of Columbia holiday.
  • For any leased use, the total number of players and coaches shall not exceed 60 at any time.
Chart of Field Use in Spring
  • The fields will not be scheduled for use by Maret or its lessees on any District of Columbia holiday.
  • For any leased use, the total number of players and coaches shall not exceed 60 at any time.
  • Practices are anticipated have approximately 50 to 60 players and coaches.
  • Maret shall require all Maret and visiting team members and most coaches to travel to and from the fields by bus for games. Chart of Summer Field Usage
  • The fields will not be scheduled for use by Maret or its lessees on July 4.
  • For any leased use, the total number of players and coaches shall not exceed 60 at any time, with the exception of summer camps, during which the total number of participants and staff shall not exceed 75 in any session, with at least 30 minutes between sessions.

  • The fields will not be scheduled for use by Maret or its lessees on any District of Columbia holiday.
  • Maret shall require all Maret team members and most Maret coaches to travel to and from the fields by bus. Exceptions: team members who live in the neighborhood and can bike or walk to the fields, team members who use Metrobus, and up to twelve team members and five coaches for the morning session and up to twelve team members and five coaches for the afternoon session who may drive to/from the fields. Practice sessions are anticipated to have approximately 50 to 60 players and coaches.

Percentages are calculated using daylight hours in the year. For the purposes of calculation, daylight hours are considered to be 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. The total hours for a particular use are divided by the total daylight hours in the defined time period to arrive at the percentages. The Academic Year includes the three weeks of Preseason from mid-August to Labor Day and runs through mid-June. ("Fields Open" are daylight hours when the fields are not being used by Maret or third-party youth sports organizations.)

For the purposes of calculation, daylight hours are considered to be 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. The total hours for a particular use are divided by the total daylight hours in the defined time period to arrive at the percentages. Summer consists of mid-June to mid-August. ("Fields Open" are daylight hours when the fields are not being used by Maret or third-party youth sports organizations.)
