Amina Pookrum '05
first learned to play lacrosse as a middle schooler at Maret, and went on to become a three-year varsity starter, helping lead the team to the school's first-ever ISL A Division title in 2005. She walked on to the varsity basketball and lacrosse teams at Division III Williams College and played two years before suffering a career-ending knee injury. She then served as student assistant coach for the lacrosse team, which played to a second-place finish in the NESCAC her final year. Since graduation, she has coached all ages and skill levels with a focus on imparting skill development, technical knowledge, and persistence to her players. To Coach Pookrum, a successful season is defined by collective improvement, cohesion, and fun. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and love of the game with a talented group of student-athletes and helping them reach their goals.
