Kids need time to explore and play in the great outdoors, and we have an exciting adventure planned just for them! Get ready to hike, play thrilling adventure games, learn essential outdoor survival skills, and get a little dirty — all while unplugging in the stunning beauty of the DC area's hiking trails and national parks. Each day will be a new off-site adventure. We'll meet at Maret in the morning and set off to discover incredible locations together!
Campers will stretch their minds and bodies as they connect with nature and embrace the adventure that awaits.
To be fully prepared for our fun-filled days, each camper should bring a backpack with a full water bottle, a delicious lunch, sunscreen, and a hat. Campers should wear comfy clothes and sturdy shoes that are perfect for hiking and climbing rocks or trees. If long pants or long sleeves are needed for the day, the Camp Leader will reach out the day before to give you a heads-up, so everyone is ready for an amazing adventure. Let’s get outside and have some fun!
Please note:
- Participants should provide their own lunch (that does not need to be refrigerated) and a water bottle.
- We do not offer before or after care for summer camps.
Camp Director
Alison Goradia is the head nurse at Maret and a former Camp Director in both California and Colorado. Every summer, she continues to volunteer as a Co-Director for the first Resident Camp where she worked in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California, a place where her children have also enjoyed being campers for eight summers. With over 25 years of experience working with children, Alison is passionate about showing them the joy of the outdoors and how it can contribute to their physical and mental well-being. She strongly believes in the benefits of unplugging from technology and reconnecting with nature, and she cannot wait to share this experience with the Outdoor Explorers campers.
