Maret in India
Maret in India connects students with Indian culture and issues through an immersive experience.
Primarily based in Ahmedabad, the students also spends significant time in Gujarat. At the Shreyas School, Maret students partner with their Indian peers, living in the homes of families and engaging in a hands-on exploration of this unique Gandhian and Tangorian community. Time spent assisting the members of the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) gives Maret participants the opportunity to deeply engage in India’s complex gender and family issues, as they work to address financial stability, empowerment, day care, and other pressing needs of women living on the edge of poverty.
